Customer Questions and Answers

what are "push to lock" brakes. can they be operated by the chair's occupant?

Asked by: Mrs Barton
Thank you for your inquiry. WHEEL LOCKS - Engage both wheel locks before getting in or out of chair, leaning forward in chair, or while in an elevator or wheelchair lift. Proper adjustment of wheel lock is at least 1/8” when locked. Locks are engaged by pushing handle completely forward. Adjustments to locks are made by loosening or tightening nut on the carriage bolt. Embed lock shoe at least 1/8” by sliding clamp toward rear wheel while handle is engaged in locked position. Tighten nut and bolt to secure in position. Test for correct locking action before actual use. Thank you again Jazmin @ Drive.

I just ordered this thru Amazon for my brother in Reno. The reviews seemed fine and He is only 165-170 lbs. It just arrived but reading thru the reviews more I see people saying the footrests break off. Is there a cure for this or order replacements?

The wheelchair came folded and will not open. How do I open it so it can be used?

Asked by: jkelly13
Thank you for your inquiry. TO OPEN CHAIR - Open wheelchair by tilting to one side and pushing down on seat rail until fully opened. TO CLOSE/FOLD CHAIR - First fold foot plates to vertical position. Grab seat with both hands at front and back edge and lift. Or, tilt chair to one side and lift up on seat rail. Thank you again Jazmin @ Drive.

I am having trouble with folding and unfolding my chair. It’s very hard and nearly impossible. Any tips? Wheelchair is needed end of next week. Is there somewhere local where it can be exchanged?

Blue Streak Wheelchair is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for me... I bought this chair to use after my upcoming hip replacement surgery and for when my MS flairs up. It's the first wheelchair I've ever had to use, and while I'm not thrilled about having to use one, I am quite happy with this chair. It is comfortable - as far a wheelchairs go! - easy to maneuver, and it seems durable. And the customer service from Drive is wonderful. I bought the chair on Amazon, and it arrived with one of the arm pads broken. I called Drive Medical the same day, and the woman I spoke with was extremely nice, patient, and helpful. A new one was sent out and I received it two days later, and it was very easy to install. I also bought a Drive Rollator, and I'm very happy with that purchase also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and Reliable I have been in and out of wheelchairs for the last seven years. I keep one at work for when I need to start using it that day. This chair is my choice since it is the most comfortable chair I own and has been the most reliable to date. Services are easily performed with two adjustable wrenches. After five years, the seat back has finally started to wear out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great wheelchair Have bought three of these wheelchairs for different family members. Very happy with all of them. The seat and back did not start to sag like others we have had. The sides that are able to be moved are great for getting close to the table. The arm rest didn't last long for us but we do throw them in the trunk daily so that is probably our fault.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very good wheelchair at a very good price. I have ALS. It is light and easy to use. It is not fancy but is fine for us right now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible design I bought this wheelchair for my husband and it has been a disappointment since the day it arrive. One leg does NOT extend to the same length as the other. It is HARD to find the levers to make adjustments. In other words iot is frustrating as all get out to try to make the adjustments necessary to use it with confidence.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly constructed wheelchair I bought the 20 inch blue streak. I don't normally need it but had bought for a trip to Hawaii so it stayed in its box for over a month. Three days into our seven day trip the left front tire bent. So now I will not be enjoying the rest of our vacation.
