how do you use it

Asked by: rich0816
Thank you for your inquiry. A nebulizer is the optimal delivery method of medication to the lungs. However, some users may find it difficult to use, especially very young children. In this case, an aerosol mask may be used. To ensure that the proper mask is utilized, please consult your home health provider or physician. The most important aspect of taking a treatment is the patient’s breathing pattern while inhaling the medication mist. It should be slow and deep, all attempts should be made to sit up straight and breathe in deep. A general rule of thumb is to attempt to breathe in so deeply that it feels as though the lungs are completely full of air and inhaling any additional air is impossible. If possible, hold your breath for 1-2 seconds unless directed otherwise by your physician and then slowly exhale through the nebulizer mouthpiece or mask. Holding your breath for 1-2 seconds after inhaling the medication allows for optimal absorption of medication in the lungs. Repeat this breathing pattern for the entire treatment. The length of a treatment can last anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes, depending on the amount of medication and the performance of your compressor and nebulizer system. When you cannot see any medication in the nebulizer cup and the nebulizer has stopped producing a mist, the treatment has been completed. Turn off your compressor and follow the cleaning instructions found in this instruction guide. If you have any additional questions regarding your equipment, medication, or treatment, please consult your physician. Thank you again Jazmin @ Drive.

Pacifica Elite Nebulizer is rated 2.4 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Please don't waste your money. We purchased this nebulizer a few months ago in anticipation of medical need during Spring sports. Just out of the box it was simple to put together and use. We ran the unit for one treatment. Just one. It will no longer make mist. No one responded to posted question. Pretty sure there are more reputable machines and companies out there to do business with. Don't waste your time or money, and save yourself plenty of frustration by purchasing elsewhere.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly made, hate it! Poorly designed, no holder for the handheld cup, loud, SLOW, & it spits all over the place. I primarily got to use for Tobramycin usage so I don't burn out the motor on my handheld Voyager by Drive. Not Tobi, but Tobramycin. I have pseudomonas currently and got this as back up for my Voyager but I do not care for it. It takes FOREVER to finish one treatment, no matter what type of medicine I put in it. It was also overpriced at $76! Very disappointed and aggravated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best bang for the buck. Therapist gave instruction I had a similar model bought on line. Lasted one use. Bought this one and took to respiratory therapist for instructions. That's when I found out about cleaning the nebulizer bowl after each use. There are two different nebulizer bowls - a single use disposable and a reusable (cleanable) version.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad so far I don't know what these idiots are talking about hard to use if you've ever used a nebulizer before is the tube and a easy to clean nebulizer bowl and mouthpiece, and as far as putting it together you have the tube and plug it in so far so good
