Can the height or ground clearance from the seat of the Cruiser III wheelchair be adjusted? Large rear wheel

Asked by: JoeGin79
Thank you for your inquiry. To Adjust the length of the footrests, loosen the bolt (or knob) on the telescoping tube shaft. Tighten securely after adjustment. The lowest part of the footrest should not be less than 2 1/2 inches from the ground to permit proper clearance. Thank you again Jazmin @ Drive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wheelchair/Flyweight Transport Chair Combo Great combo chair for travel, shopping or dinning. The rear "big wheels" allow it to be used by patients that have the arm strength or in uneven or ruff surfaces or they can be removed so you can use in tight areas like shopping in small shops and restaurants. The arm rests are designed to allow the chair to get up close to the table. Really love this chair.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Large wheels disintegrated; poor materials We used this product as a transport chair for several years, but eventually installed the large wheels as my mother-in-law's health declined. Almost immediately, the rubber tires began to disintegrate. The pressure of the wheel locks against the wheel began to cause cracks. Soon,1" to 3" chunks of rubber began to break out of the wheels. The locks were adjusted properly, but the rubber tire was brittle and very weak. Eventually, I was able to break out the remaining parts of the tire, in 6" to 12" sized pieces using just my fingers, leaving the metal rim behind. (See photo) I contacted DriveMedical about this problem, and they provided no help; nor acknowledgement that there was anything wrong with their product, which they assured me was excellent. We can still use it as a transport chair with the small wheels. (Although the small wheels had much more use, are still in decent condition.) But if you're looking for a wheel chair, be cautious. Maybe they've corrected this problem by now. Or maybe they haven't. Other than this problem we were happy with the chair... but it was a pretty major thing to go wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great Wheelchair for everyday needs Bought the TR20 for my wife when she needed a wheelchair to get around in. Loved the ability of using it with and without the 24" wheels. We remove the big wheels to make it easier to move around in the house, at church, in restaurants, in stores, etc. Since I do all the pushing she doesn't need the big wheels. This helps us to maneuver around in tight spaces. We put on the big wheels when we walk the paved trails in a nearby park. The trail we walk is 2 miles out and 2 miles back, and we walk it 3-4 times a week weather permitting. In the 2 years we have had it we have probably logged well over 500 miles. Use the fold down back when folding the chair up to store in the car. It also comes in handy when she gets her hair washed at her hair dresser. The fold away foot rests work well in restaurants so her feet don't get in the way of other people at the same table. My only complaint is that the brakes for the 8" back wheels are not adjustable. With the constant use of the chair without the big wheels, the rubber on 8" back wheels wears down so the brakes don't really grip when locked. I have added metal hose clamps to beef up the metal brakes, so problem solved. This is our first wheelchair and we are thankful for all of its features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Two Wheelchairs in One! Fantastic chair. My mom can move it easily with the large wheels and switching to the smaller wheels couldn’t be easier. It’s sturdy, light, and easily fits into the back of my car.
