Can the hand rims on the rear wheel be removed for more door way clearance?

Asked by: Joedee
Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, the hand rims do not come off but the arms are removable: Remove arms by depressing spring button and lifting arms out of front and rear sockets. The chair does fold so you can roll it right through the door: First fold foot plates to vertical position. Grab seat with both hands at front and back edge and lift. Or, tilt chair to one side and lift up on seat rail. Should you have any additional questions, Please contact our customer support, toll-free (866) 694-5085 - 8:30 am - 8:00 pm (EST). Silver Sport Full-Reclining Wheelchair is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best reclining wheelchair for the money I am very happy with this wheelchair with the desk style armrests. I also bought the Drive seat belt and 16"x20" gel cushion. All work very well. When someone attached the seat belt on the left side (brake bracket) they didn't torque the nut sufficiently, and it dropped off. Less than 25 cents for a new nut and flat washer. Not the manufacturer's fault. The chair is simple to figure out and assemble. Any rehab or medical center staff member can show buyers how things work. This is the most reasonable reclining wheelchair for the money, and includes the headrest, head immobilizer and folding foot rests that were high-dollar options on my last reclining back wheelchair. In use since October 2014. I love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Customer Service My husband is 6'2" - 177 pounds, has Alzheimer's and wheelchair bound when not in bed. The wheelchairs available at the memory care center are very small and low back which caused him great discomfort. I bought a Silver Sport Full-Reclining Wheelchair 15 months ago and it has been the source of great comfort to him. With the high back, adjustable head rest and reclining feature he can fully relax without falling sideways and hanging half out of the chair. Unfortunately, the weld on the right side back support tube broke and the chair was unusable. I call customer service and spoke with Nelson. He had me send photo's of the broken chair and they are replacing it at no charge. What a wonderful experience!! I can't say enough good things about this wheelchair or the level of customer service. I highly recommend DeVilbiss for al your medical equipment needs.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from flawed instructions I cannot see how to install the anti tippers. Video for assembly leaves that part out. I can see that other consumers have the same problem. The answers given are insufficient. They need to show installation of the anti tippers on their video!!They don't just slide into the lower back frame where a hole can be seen. Pressing in the button on the anti tipper doesn't help if the width of the anti tipper is too big to slide into the holes provided. Also, the frame itself is in the way. I have left a message with customer service. I will let you know if they can help me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save your Money - Extremely poor quality I bought this chair less than a year ago. The left brake has already broken. I have over 15 years experience with all types of medical equipment and this chair is the cheapest piece of trash I ever wasted money on
