Accounts Receivable Deductions Analyst

About the Role:

The main responsibility of this position will be to manage a portfolio of assigned accounts to identify, investigate, and analyze all deductions to determine their veracity. This position will be responsible for obtaining backup detail for deductions and guiding them through the flow of approval, the issuance of credit and the process of clearing the deduction from the account.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Researches necessary information to resolve all customer deductions pertaining to pricing, freight claims, shortages, fees, service level allowances, returns, etc.
  • Secure necessary deduction documentation to resolve the issues: such as invoice copies,proof of delivery, contracts/vendor guides, and or purchase order copies, etc.
  • Create documentation to write-off, adjust or prepare a customer charge-back to recover the funds.
  • Interact with both internal and external customers to resolve the issues.
  • Identify trends which relate to the deduction.
  • Reconciles customer account balances by offsetting credits to deductions.
  • Maintain electronic storage files which contain various supporting documents or templates needed to process deductions. This will include attaching supporting documents to applicable sales orders in SAP.
  • Utilize multiple databases and applications, such as SAP, Excel, Word and Internet Web-sites.
  • Generate reports through SAP.

Requirements

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate Degree in business or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of one year experience in deduction research or data analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be proficient and accurate in the use of computer software programs and accessing and utilizing information from the company’s operating system and various applications.
  • Must be able to deal with “difficult” situations in a diplomatic and professional manner.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Customer Service experience is a plus
