Description

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES :To provide the skills needed in quality inspection of medical devices and components.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Inspecting incoming products from both international and domestic suppliers using established methods and tools.
  • Oversight of work orders and or repair activities.
  • Entering and maintenance of data into spreadsheets and SAP.
  • Completion of documentation as required by the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Maintaining QC areas and equipment.
  • Performing other Quality Control related duties as may be required

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS :

  • Thorough knowledge of quality control inspection techniques and methods.
  • Ability to use common measurement tools (calipers, micrometer, plug gauges, thread gauges, tape measure) to accurately perform inspections.
  • Proficient with MS Office products, especially Excel and Access.
  • Basic knowledge of FDA QSR, cGMP or ISO Standards.
  • Understanding of digital photography with the ability to incorporate images into MS Word or MS Excel documents.
  • Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes such as welding, punching, injection and blow molding, painting and assembly.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a quality control inspector performing incoming or receiving inspection, preferably in a regulated medical device environment.
  • Bachelors preferred
  • Knowledge of durable medical equipment highly desirable.
  • Excellent mechanical abilities are required.
  • Experience in dealing with imported mechanical products highly desirable.
  • Ability to travel within the USA is required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS :CQE (certified quality engineer) highly desired
