Logistics Coordinator

The Logistics Coordinator is a direct report to the Domestic Logistics Manager. The level for this position will be determined based on the candidate identified. This person will be responsible for coordinating product flow into and out of our Plants. The Director of Logistics & Plant Director will provide overall direction. Roles and Responsibilities: This position is designed to communicate effectively with carriers, and internal and external customers to ensure that deliveries are consistently made on time as we work to meet the needs of our customers. Coordinates activities with carriers for incoming & outgoing shipments. Verifying and keeping records to include, but not limited to: receiving, shipping, SLC, yard inventory and other various reporting. The position will also include booking shipments for international and domestic shipments.


>Key duties/responsibilities of the Logistics Coordinator: • Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments and receipts. • Manages Yard Inventory reporting and coordinates trucker movements onto and off of doors. • Maintains all receiving packing lists and certifications received with incoming vendor/supplier shipments. Communicates any discrepancies with Supply Chain team for resolution. • Ensures transactions are recorded timely and accurately within company ERP, to reflect a correct shipment status and carrier selection at any time. • Ensures full compliance with company carrier selection and trouble shoots any Delivery Orders that do not comply for standard shipping practices. • Run daily reports in ERP to determine compliance with Corporate Logistics routing guides. • Performs other duties as assigned by Management. May assist workers in shipping, receiving and delivery activities. • Be respectful and a team player with co-workers. • Maintain and provide support to all 5-S program initiatives. • Ensure compliance to workplace policies according to safety objectives and procedures. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have the following skills, qualifications and personal characteristics: • Excellent verbal communication and problem-solving skills • Highly tuned Organizational skills. • Ability to multi task and coordinate both in and outbound shipments with several carriers and functional partners. • Interpersonal skills; ability to foster teamwork and motivate others. • Knowledge of local and regional geographical area • Make optimum decisions under pressure and time constraints • Confer with customers and/or company personnel in order to address questions, problems, complaints, and requests for service. • Keep customers notified of changes with route schedules and/or on-demand delays. Qualifications • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Internet tracking or TMS systems • ERP experience with SAP is preferred but not required. • Minimum of 3 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. • 3 years of experience required in Operations environment, shipping or receiving or Logistics. • High school degree or equivalent GED Skills Successful candidate will the following skills: • Understanding of Logistics with specific experience dealing with Carriers and their requirements. • Strong organizational skills • Good writing skills • Communicate effectively • Be a good listener • Ability to collaborate with other departments • Be well organized • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Powerpoint Personal Characteristics • High energy positive attitude. • “Can do” attitude • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment • Highly flexible
