Order Placement, Freight and Shipment Policies

Drive Medical accepts orders via telephone, Drive's website, email, EDI and fax.

Order Change/Cancellation (877-224-0946)

To change or cancel an order, Drive Medical must be notified within the same business day that the order was placed. If the order has not been shipped, the order can be cancelled. If the order has been shipped, it cannot be cancelled and a Return Authorization (RA) number must be issued. In this circumstance, the provider must pay the return freight. Under Drive's Hassle-Free Return Policy a restocking fee will not be charged within 30 days.

Shipping Information

If a product is not available at a Provider's primary Drive Distribution Center, Drive Medical reserves the right to ship that product from its choice of locations.

Drive Medical will provide an Advanced Shipping Notification (ASN) to any qualified Provider who requests this service. Providers have the option to receive ASN's by email only. ASN's will be emailed to the provider within one business day of the shipment. To participate in this service, please call Drive Medical Customer Service.

A Provider may obtain a Proof of Delivery directly from the carrier or from Drive Medical Customer Service. All requests for a Proof of Delivery must be made within one hundred and twenty (120) days of the invoice date.

Freight Information

Drive Providers: Effective February, 11, 2019 our standard freight policy will change as follows:

  • Free freight will apply to orders over $2,000.00.
  • For orders between $1,500.00 and $1,999.99, a freight charge equivalent to 6% of the total order value will be added to the order. 
  • For orders between $1,000.00 and $1,499.99, a freight charge equivalent to 8% of the total order value will be added to the order. 
  • For orders between $500.00 and $999.99, a freight charge equivalent to 10% of the total order value will be added to the order. 
  • For purchases up to $499.99, a flat freight charge of $49.99 will be added to the order.
  • Orders containing certain Custom Ordered items, Bariatric Products, Furniture, or Long-Term Care Beds and other LTC products are charged actual freight. 

Note: Freight costs referenced apply to items that are being shipped to the same location. Prices valid in Continental US Only.

WE PROVIDE FREE FREIGHT ON MOST REPLACEMENT PARTS

Select large or heavy items are excluded from this policy. Contact Customer Service for more information.

If the product order needs to be shipped LTL, liftgate, inside delivery, appointments or small truck services are available. The charges for these services are as follows:

NON-RESIDENTIAL DELIVERIES

  • Liftgate  $40
  • Inside Delivery only  $50
  • Liftgate and Inside Delivery  $90
  • Appointment  No charge
  • Limited Access (such as Storage Facility, Airport, Convention Center, etc.)  $50
  • Straight Truck required  No charge

RESIDENTIAL DELIVERIES - EXCLUDING POWER MOBILITY PRODUCTS

  • Liftgate (to door)  $40
  • Liftgate and Inside Delivery  $90
  • Appointment ( included on all deliveries)  No charge

The addition of any of these services may increase normal transit time; in most cases no more than one (1) day.

Any additional fees Drive Medical incurs as a result of incomplete or inaccurate information on the order (e.g. no notification of lift gate, incorrect address), will be passed on to the provider.

Additional Inside Delivery or White Glove delivery services are available for purchases of power chairs and scooters shipped to residential addresses, when Peace of Mind warranty plan is purchased. Please reference the Peace of Mind Program details for the specifics on these delivery options.
