“Our team’s use of WalkWise spans the continuum of care needs. We’re able to be preventative by keeping track of activity levels and encouraging increased activity when appropriate, but we can also detect changes in the data from day to day that helps us prevent emergency room visits and hospitalizations.”
-C.S., Skilled Nursing Facility Physical Therapist
"I purchased the WalkWise® for my 90 year old mother who lives alone on a farm much of the year. It works great! It gives me much peace of mind to know when she's active... or not. I have mine set to send me email alerts if her walker is tipped over or inactive for long periods of time during the day. I love it!"

How does WalkWise work?
WalkWise is a passive activity-monitoring system that attaches directly to a walker or rollator. It automatically tracks usage—no buttons, wearables, or behavior changes required—and sends data to a secure app via Wi-Fi. This allows caregivers and users to monitor mobility activity without disrupting daily routines.
What data can users see in the app?
The app provides clear, actionable insights, including duration and distance traveled and usage patterns over time. Users can also view trends and receive alerts if activity levels change, helping identify potential concerns early. The proprietary Night Owl Score provides critical insight into nighttime activity.
Does WalkWise need charging?
No. WalkWise operates on replaceable AA batteries that last about a year.
How is WalkWise different from PERS systems?
Unlike Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS), WalkWise does not rely on the user to press a button or call for help. Instead, it passively monitors mobility activity and identifies changes over time. This provides a proactive view of adherence and functional status, rather than a reactive response to emergencies, and helps identify changes in activity that may signal health changes.
What support materials are available for in-store display?
Drive provides patient-facing brochures and videos to help making sell WalkWise even easier. Ask your rep or fill out the form above for access.
What happens if a patient returns the device?
WalkWise carries a 1-year manufacturer warranty. Our dealer support team handles warranty claims directly so your staff doesn't have to troubleshoot hardware.
Are there HCPCS codes or insurance reimbursement considerations?
WalkWise is currently classified as a general wellness product and is not a reimbursable DME item under Medicare/Medicaid. It is an out-of-pocket retail sale.
